My Teaching Method
My approach blends contemporary vocal technique with somatic awareness and nervous‑system science.
Instead of pushing, forcing, or overthinking, we work with your body’s natural coordination so singing feels grounded, supported, and free. You’ll learn to build strength and skill without tension — in a space that’s warm, playful, and judgment‑free.
“I was nervous to start lessons because I’m a pretty anxious person, but Kelley made me feel comfortable right away. She made learning something new feel easier and less intimidating. I’ll definitely be taking more lessons, and I recommend her to anyone who’s an anxious beginner like me. ”
Your first session is a warm, low‑pressure introduction to your voice and your goals. We’ll start by talking about your background and what you want from singing. I’ll walk you through my teaching method with simple examples, and we’ll try a few gentle sounds together — just enough for you to feel how your voice responds. I’ll briefly introduce the nervous‑system and psychological patterns that can create tension for many singers, and how we can work through them in a grounded, supportive way. Then we’ll explore a line or two of a song you bring in, so you can experience the method in action. You’ll leave with a clear sense of where your voice is right now, what’s creating tension or strain, and how we can build ease, strength, and confidence over time.
